I don’t have much time, but all I have to say is, Temple Square is THE BEST mission ever! Pennsylvania will always have a special place in my heart, but this is Church Headquarters and everything happens here.
Have you guys heard of “He is the Gift?” Many of you probably already heard about it but it is the new video the Church recently launched this last week to promote the true meaning of Christmas. If you haven’t watched it yet, stop what you’re doing and watch it right now!

Amazing, right? Alright, so this last week we got some special training on how to use the resources we have here at Temple Square and to promote this new video. In just 2-3 minutes, the Church really captures how Jesus Christ is the gift for every single person. They re-did parts of the North Visitor’s Center and everything looks amazing! We have a huge new TV there to play “He is the Gift.” Sister Reed and I have had the wonderful opportunity of showing it to dozens of people already. They also put up new portraits of the Savior’s birth and they look so good!
The Christmas lights also turned on this past Friday so this weekend was PACKED. It literally takes us 15 minutes just to get to the North Visitor’s Center to the South Visitor’s Center. But, that means we have endless opportunities to find, teach, and uplift! We have met so many people, including 2 young men from China who are currently living in Idaho with LDS host families. We got their contact information and we will be calling them this weekend to teach them more! I might be going home soon, but the Lord’s work is never over! Unfortunately, I’ll only have a couple more times to teach them before I go home, but we still have many Chinese missionaries here and they will continue teaching these 2 boys.
Oh yeah, almost forgot to mention how we spent Thanksgiving. Since we never get the chance to be fed by members, our mission presidency arranged for each companionship to eat with a family in Bountiful! So we had a sweet older couple pick us up from Temple Square on Thanksgiving and they fed us a wonderful Thanksgiving dinner. Serving a mission here at Temple Square has increased my gratitude level, especially my gratitude for the warmth of a home. They had many of their children and grandchildren there, and it felt so nice and relaxing to be able to sit inside a home for a few hours before we went back out on the Square again.
I’m glad to be finishing my mission during the busy Christmas holiday season. It helps me to work really hard and give it my all before I go home. We leave the Square at 10 pm now and by the time we crawl into bed, Sister Reed and I are OUT in less than a minute. I hope you all have a wonderful week and don’t forget to watch “He is the Gift!” I want to invite you all to think about what you can do individually or as a family to make sure that our Savior Jesus Christ is the center of your holiday season this year. I know it’s so easy to get caught up with presents, parties, and Christmas decorations but I invite you to remember what our Savior has done for us so that we can even have this reason to celebrate Christmas in the first place. Take care and have a great week!
